Nordic Innovation received a total of 123 applications under the ‘Call for Project Outlines’. 20 projects have been selected and will receive funding to develop their projects ideas and establish a consortium.
The applications and the selected projects will form the basis of much of Nordic Innovation's future work and initiatives. Sindre Bornstein, Managing Director at Nordic Innovation explains:
“The applications come from all Nordic countries. Reviewing them has been an inspiring process, showcasing an impressive level of creativity and innovative thinking. This has provided us with valuable insights into the opportunities that lie ahead within our new innovation programs and will serve as a catalyst for many new collaborations,” says Sindre Bornstein and continues:
“The 20 selected projects cover a broad range of innovation areas such as circularity, critical technologies, mature green solutions, transport, value chain collaboration and new innovation methods. We are excited to begin working with these projects and support their development.”
The 20 projects are split into the two innovation programs: Innovative Solutions for 2030 and Nordic Forward: Resilience and Competitiveness for 2050.
Innovative Solutions for 2030
This program aims to accelerate the introduction of solutions for the green transition towards 2030. The program will support initiatives to strengthen companies’ competitiveness and knowledge, provide Nordic governments with input for policy development and implement pilot and demonstration projects that can be rapidly introduced to the market.

Background
The Call for Project Outlines for a Green and Competitive Nordic region marks the first stage of a two-step funding model designed by Nordic Innovation to foster a broader Nordic innovation collaboration and to help develop strategic guidelines for upcoming priorities.
The 20 consortia can apply for full-scale funding in the second step of call process. The second call for proposals will be announced in autumn 2025 and will also be open to new applicants who did not participate in the first round.
